Nordeste Independente Redesign

While studying separatism in the northeastern region of Brazil and Nordeste Independente, a peaceful separatist organization founded in the 90s by the economist, writer, historian, environmental activist, and university professor, Jacques Ribemboim in the Federal University of Pernambuco, I stumbled upon their flag, to the left. The sun in every way is really good, both in design and symbolism, and even though I made my own on my flag to test, putting the already existing one would also be good.
Acording to their post on their official, active Facebook page, this is the meaning behind the flag (translated by me from Portuguese to English):
White - The white portion of our flag represents the peace and purity of our working people; Black - The black portion of our flag represents the period of internal neocolonialism to which the Northeast is subjected within the "Federative" Republic of Brazil; Yellow - The yellow portion of our flag represents our natural beauty, our economic potential and the growing hope of an independent Nordeste.

Stars - The yellow and black stars on our flag represent the Nordeste and Brazil, respectively. While the black star covers the yellow star, preventing it from shining and standing, it remains visually noticeable. It is a hidden message that criticizes the system of internal neocolonialism to which the Northeast is subjected, where Brazil prevents the development and effective industrialization of the Nordeste. The stars also have 9 points that represent the nine states of the Northeast: Alagoas, Bahia, Ceará, Maranhão, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte and Sergipe.

To the right of this paragraph, there is the first version of my redesign, and to the left, the second version. The 12 rays symbolize the 12 new states that would be formed in the Nordeste Republic. The black part symbolizes the same as the official flag, the period of internal neocolonialism to which Nordeste is subjected within Brazil. The blue symbolizes the beauty of our seas and beaches, which are the best and warmest of all the Americas. It also represents the waves of the new. By that, I mean the hope of refreshment, of a new order that will come after the independence.
The yellow's meaning is also similar to the official flag, our economic potential. The sun is in yellow, not only because, well... You know, but also to symbolize that even though the black part, which represents the period internal neocolonialism) is present and bigger than the sun, just like the sun, Nordeste can still, and will shine. The 12 rays of the sun mean 2 things, the 12 federative states that would be formed after the independence, and the cactuses of Sertão. The inner circle, the Agreste, and the dot, the Litoral, a.k.a. the coastline. On the second design, the rhombus inverting the colors represent the interlacing nature of these issues, meaning that the natural beauty of Nordeste could be improved, symbolized by the economic yellow part if the black fimbriation that represents Brazil wouldn't be between them.
